Membership at St. John'sSt. John's Baptist Church is a people and a place where you can put your Christian faith into practice. St. John's is committed to the concept of the " servant church ." The congregation makes its facilities available for community ministry and provides ministry to the hungry, the sick, the homeless, and those in need of various types of support in the greater community.
Within the church there are unlimited opportunities for service to each other. The Sunday School classes, the choirs, the committees, all form churches within the church for support and nurture of the members. At St. John's there is a place of service for you.
Becoming a Member
Towards the end of the worship service, we will sing a Hymn of Discipleship. During the singing of this hymn, we invite those who wish to join SJBC to come to the front and speak to the Pastor. We receive members in the following three ways:
- Profession of faith in Jesus Christ (followed by baptism at a later time)
- Transfer of membership from another church
- Statement of previous church membership
Copies of the church covenant are available here and through the church office. If you have questions, one of the ministers is available during the week to visit with you regarding membership. Call the church office (704-333-5428) or, during a service, fill out an “I Wish” card found in the backs of the pews and place it in the offering plate.
